Nerf Bow and Arrow Review

Believe it or not, the Nerf Bow and Arrow was the first real weapon that Nerf ever made (what is the blast-a-ball supposed to be?), and you have to think that it’s one of those toys that they just couldn’t make these days.

The arrows didn’t “hurt” per se (though a solid shot to the skull always stung a bit), but how many times did you nearly get your eye knocked out by a Nerf arrow? And how many times did simple bow and arrow fights lead to knock down ‘zomg Timmy lost a tooth’ blood baths? That’s what I thought.

Anyway, the Nerf Bow and Arrow is one of the best toys of the 1990s, and given that it was the first Nerf weapon ever made, it’s definitely a classic.

I found the First Nerf Gun: Nerf Bow and Arrow /// 1991
at a rummage sale. I only paid $4.00 for it.

I would like another one for the kids.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get one without paying a fortune???

Sharyn, I doubt you’ll be able to find one of these guns anymore. I think you should just go to Toys R us and buy a big bad bow, which is just the new version of the bow and arrow. Around 20 bucks new.

This was great, my cousins had one and we would fire down on to the dining room table during family gatherings. The adults though it was less great.

Sharyn, your best bet is to try your luck on ebay or another similar site, I don’t own one but Ive heard its a great weapon with impeccable accuracy.

  10. LetsBolt says:

Sure you could only fire one arrow at a time and you only had 3 arrows total but, this weapon was THE weapon of choice. The accuracy (depending on how well you treated your arrows) was fantastic! I once combat rolled behind a couch popped up and shot my friend in the eye from a good 25 feet away! That was in 2003 mind you! The thing still works! It might of had a few flaws but, the firing mechanism i always enjoyed. It made it feel more Realistic pulling back on the firing arm. God, I loved this thing!

  12. Jon Willis says:

This was the most amazing toy of my entire childhood! My brother and I would score direct hits on each other from opposite ends of the house. It even functioned well outside with a light breeze. Man, this brings back fantastic memories.

  13. Steven says:

Still have 1 of these from growing up. I also still have a scar above my left eye from hitting my face on the counter trying to dodge one of these arrows. Man, they couldn’t get away with these color schemes anymore!
