aight, what I can guess from the box. of course, the 18 clip. most likely reverse plunging (dagnabit), rapid fire= pumping, like any other of these guns, and if you look at the back, it looks like there might be a place for the recon stock.

To XIII
All we can do about the reverse plunging is hope your assumption is false.
And about the recon stock. You might want to mod it first cause it is very flimsy and I mean, VERY, flimsy.

i got this gun a few weeks ago and it is awesome fun. Ive also got the raider and i can tell you that the rapid fire is 10x as smooth and easier to use. i can unload the barel on one of my friens in about 7 or 8 seconds. my only problem is with the barrel: even with carful handling mine always jams. still a great gun though!!!!

This has a less effective air restricter(really ineffective) which means THIS BLASTER SHOOTS ABOUT 40 FEET with not damaged darts.

OMG this gun is awesome or in other words, legendary wait for it, dary (bad joke, lol). Its fire rate is awesome and sometimes I use the barrel with my recon. The recon and alpha trooper togehter are perfect for anyone.

10/10

Im blown away by the Alpha Trooper. Heres why:

1. 18 SHOT DRUM. The mini-drum magazine works beautifully, looks cool, and at 18 shots, holds 3x more than the standard clips.
2. SMOOTH ACTION. The pump is sturdy, smooth, and comfortable. I NEVER jam with this gun.
3. POWERFUL. Even without modification, this gun is surprisingly accurate and has good range. Id rate it just below a Longshot.
4. ACCESSORIZABLE. Because the slide is foregrip-style instead of a topslide, it doesnt get in the way of your scope the way the Recons does. Although it doesnt come with a stock, it can take the Raider stock or the Recon stock.
5. GOOD LOOKING. This is the nicest looking N-Strike available in my opinion. It is a great size, handles well, and looks amazing!

Check your local Target store for the Alpha Trooper- I found some on sale for a very reasonable price this holiday season. Good hunting!

I picked this up for my 7yo girl so she can compete w/ my son and I. I have a Stampede, while my son has the Barricade, but now I rather use the Alpha-trooper. Its small enough, and smooth enough that she can get off enough shots to compete. She tried the Recon, and the Raider, but both are too big. I find that the Alpha-trooper fires off consistenly well beyond 40ft, and it hurts when she gets her target. Awesome little weapon.

This is a great blaster! The 18 dart drum and rapid fire capability are amazing! In any Nerf battle I have, I always win using the alpha trooper! Long range firing combines with accuracy for an unbeatable weapon!Buy This!

The alpha trooper is AMAZING. ONLY problem is that the one i bought has a range of only 25 feet and i was expecting 35 or more. Otherwise a very accurate and portable nerf blaster. i give it a 9/10

it is awesome. it shoot smoothly it dosnt jam you can put in 20 darts without it jamming its portable and it has alot of range and best of all its not reverse plunging and the useless air restrictor make it the best gun ever, i put on the pinpoint mission kit sight and the recon stock (with exttra clip) and i never lose nerf war. this is the best gun ever.

I have to agree with all of the comments praising this blasterexcept onemine is not very accurate at all. My darts curve and jink at about 30-35 feet. It may be a defect with my particular Alpha Trooper. At any rate, its an excellent blaster and I enjoy it almost as much as my kids barricade.

I really like the look of this gun, but I dont think its available in the UK.

In my office on Friday afternoons major Nerf warfare breaks out. My Alpha trooper holds its own with longer range than most, combined with the large magazine. The shorter form is better for cubicle warfare as well. Definitely a hit!

In my opinion, the best nerf blaster ever. Everything is great, but the darts start to veer off target at about 30 feet. Its portable, lightweight and easily my favorite.

i had the raider and I loved it. I was able to beat more than three people at once with it. But of course, one of my brothers friends threw it on the ground and it broke. So I am really looking forward to getting what seems to be a smaller version of it. :D

i got a dud, mine only shoots around fourty feet with new darts 1/5 times, the other 4 times it shoots to the end of the barrel and falls out, sounds like i should get a new one :)

I would like to say that this is the BEST Nerf Gun I have EVER used in my life. The shots travel far and the rapid fire is awesome, plus it has never jammed, ever. Plus the 18 shot clip lets you keep going so you could of easily taken out the enemy team in war situation by the time the mag is empty. By the way, I am English and there is no Target stores in the UK so I got mine from Argos(a hint for all of you british nerfers out there)for £19.99 (about 27 dollars, i think) PS The size makes it good for cramped quarters.

1 question- is it better than the raider????????

Reply

Nerf Herder February 21, 2011 at 8:05 pm

This gun is fantastic! Im getting a crazy range, it fires as fast as you can slam it, it has an 18 dart drum, but it can actually hold 20, it seems to be pretty durable, its only jammed once for me, but theres a door in it that lets you easily clear it, and it looks really cool. Totally worth the 20 bucks!

This is WAY better than the raider. I also love how much the pump action makes it feel like a shotgun.

Does the raider or longshot clip fit into the alpha trooper and vice-versa?

Yes. They work in each other.

I picked this up 2 weeks ago and in stock form its pretty awesome. My stock Recon has a bit more punch when darts hit but this one is easier to arc and dead on hit something. First day I got it I was arcing 50 foot shots at my friend who was hiding behind a car with no problems.

Its lightweight, looks nice, and responds well to mods. Im in the middle of hiiiiiiighly modifying mine. Ill be sure to add pics to the Nerf facebook when its done(Im the guy who posted the black and gray Recon & Barricade). Ive started many wars throughout the house lately, and with this gun Ill definitely win. :p

I got this gun for my b-day and its amazing. It shoots about 30 feet and has great aim. You can put 19-20 darts in the clip but I pefur 19 because it normally gets Jammed with 20. This thing is small but powerful. I would give it 9/10.

This gun is ok for me it jams A LOT when in slam-fire mode, especially with the drum mag.
Otherwise, if it doesnt jam its a great gun

I put a brass breech in mine, its amazing.it went from 40 feet to 85 to 90 feet . Its small and fast and works great with a raider drum.

There is something about this gun that I love but I cant put my finger on it?? It shoots great distances especially with new ammo but does have the tendancy to ruin ammo after a few rounds. Something with the feed mechanism but that doesnt bother me its just a great weapon right out of the box. I have 12 of these and have not modified not one. An absolute must for collectors or players.

I just bought this gun today due to the fact that I have been using a Firefly for wars for quite awhile. Although I love the Firefly and it will always have a place in my heart, I am so glad that I upgraded to the Alpha Trooper. Ive shot just about every nerf gun in the N strike line aside from the Stampede and the Alpha trooper is my favorite. Its very lightweight and small which makes it easy to sprint with (which you have to do quite often in wars). And the 18 dart drum may hold a lot of ammo but doesnt look like it does because its so small and compact. The rate of fire is amazing, the range is about equal to the Recon, and the accuracy is pretty great. Theres only 2 negatives to this gun and thats the lip on the bottom of the cocking mechanism (because it kind of just gets in the way of my hand and feels uncomfortable) and the other negative is the fact that it can hold a stock but doesnt come with one. Overall though I give this gun a ten out of ten because those 2 negatives dont really cause the gun to be less effective in battle by any means.
