The recon is a supreb gun, with high reliability. Although they are right about the bad range, let me remind you that this is a nerf gun, not an air rifle, not an airsfot gun, and definatly not a REAL gun. The best way to use this gun, is without the barrle, but with the stock, using a custom tac light made by krazy gluing a flashlight to the yellow part of a recon flip-up sight(taking the sight itself of, leaving the base on), and with a flip clip, plus a singal clip in the stock. DO NOT USE A RAIDER STOCK!

Ok I’ve been reading some of the reviews on this gun, and i have to say, they are quite wrong. I'd give it an 8.5/10 without the barrel.

The Recon is a good Nerf gun if you want a decent gun with some firepower and a decent fire rate. The butt is quite flimsy but is still hard to break. the darts fire at different ranges after you have had it for a while. Some of the darts get stuck as I fond out after three weeks of having it and I had to buy a refill even though I had a double the darts pack.

The Recon is a great gun it is fully customizable for long range, close quarter and enforcement missions. I bought the Maverik just to have one and got pwnd so I went and got a Recon and i am pretty impressed for $20. I also bought the double flip clip thing so I can reload more darts quick. Sometimes the longer barrel slows down the dart, but most of the time I am getting a distance between 30-50 feet and its very acurate most of the time. Awesome!

I work at HP and we have NERF gun wars about once every 2 weeks. The cocking mechanism is slow and difficult if used properly and jams if not. Aiming is near impossible due to the positioning of the tac rails and the horrendous range. The stock blocks you from aiming without the sight and the barrel shortens your range. The laser never stays on and cant be used except at point blank. This is best used as a pistol, but why pay so much for a pistol? Buy a nitefinder, the laser works and its deadly accurate, mine cost me only three British pounds too.Recon looks very cool but its crap. If nerf was real war it would get you killed way faster than you can force the slide forward and work out the range.

Bought this gun a while ago.
